We have some new additions coming in the next week. The kittens from foster care are finally old enough to get their first immunization shot and come to the shelter, As Minou and Lilac were adopted this week we have room for them now.
We also have a couple new additions in the dog kennels, a small white guy who is missing his owners i am sure, hopefully someone is looking for this guy.
The tabby kitten that is in the pound as well as the medium haired gray cat are still here.
We are doing the pancake breakfast on parade day at the Co-op, come eat or help out. Let's kick the parade off right.
Our next bingo that we need some helpers for is on September 12 (Sunday evening)

  • The hot dog and rummage sale raised just under 600.00 that will go towards the animals.
  • Lola was adopted,
  • Zeke had a safe flight to his new home and is very happy.
  • Our next bingo after tonight that we need help for is on September 12 (a Sunday Evening).
  • We are at capacity for cats at this time so until we have cats adopted or find somewhere to transfer them to we can not take in any cats or kittens at this time. (hopefully there is space for the kittens in foster by the time they are old enough to come in, will update pics of them next week)
  • We are also at capacity for dogs as soon we will have to bring some in at night and need to make sure we will have room for them if they are not adopted by the time the weather gets to -10.
  • Thank you to all the community members who responded with understanding regarding dogs barking and our need for a better facility.

We had a yard sale and hotdog/pop sale on Friday (bit of rain) Saturday (no one in town) and so we are having our final yardsale with BBQ hot dogs and pop sale in the parking lot of the shelter on Wednesday the 18th from Eleven until five or six pm (depending on how busy we are). It will be the final one this year so come get some stuff or just have lunch. There are some excellent baby items including barely used car seats, high chairs, kitchen appliances, crafts, some new still unwrapped puzzles, knick knacks, lots of paperback books (sorry no romance or westerns). See you there. All proceeds (100%) go to the animals.

Simon went to his new forever home in High River.
Rambo was neutered on Aug 04 so will be recovering for the next week.
The kittens in foster are doing well (four weeks old now, will try to have new pics before Monday)

We have a dog here that needs a country home, without young children or small animals. She is six years old and been an outdoor dog her whole life. She does not get along well with animals smaller than her and would like a home where she can just watch the yard, be fed and cared for, and get the occasional pat on the head. Adults only and not an overly noisy or busy environment. She is a special case who will not be able to stay here long term. If we can not find her a home soon we will have to transfer her out to the SPCA or a rescue organization. We would rather find her a home and are open to offers. She is English Collie /Great Pyranese cross she is med/large.
